Planning Applications
Application Number 20202311
Description – Replace existing 3 bedroom bungalow with 4 bedroom 1 1/2 storey dwelling
Location – Hyside, 33 Ollands Road, Reepham, Norfolk, NR10 4EL
- As this application appears to have addressed concerns over height and the position of the dwelling in relation to neighbouring houses and the overall footprint, Reepham Town Council see no reason to object to the application. The Council would like to express their concern that the demolition of a sound bungalow, which could be incorporated into the new house, will have an unnecessary impact on the environment. They also remain concerned about the access to the site by lorries during demolition and rebuilding given that Ollands Road is narrow at this point and the impact this may have on neighbouring properties.
Application Number 20181808
Description – Change of use & incorporation of land into Fishery business to provide two new fishing lakes
Location – Beck Farm, Norwich Road, Reepham, NR10 4NR
- This application will be considered at the Town Council meeting on 13th January 2021
Application Number 20202047
Description – Display of 1) Internally illuminated fascia lettering; 2) Internally illuminated double sided totem sign
Location- Station Yard,Station Road,Reepham,NR10 4LJ
- Reepham Town Council would like to record that whilst they have no objection to the signage, they would expect the signs to be switched off when the shop is closed. The Council are concerned that the totem sign is too large. It will be extremely prominent and is out of scale for the development and surrounding environment. The Council note that the existing car park lighting is extremely bright and if provision has not already been made, this should also be switched off an hour after the store closes.
- The Town Council have no further comments to make following re-consultation as they note that lights are turned off at 11pm as requested
Application Number 20202261
Description – Erection of 2no. semi-detached single storey dwellings following the demolition of 1 no existing building
Location – Broomhill, Broomhill Lane, Reepham, NR10 4QY
Application Type – Full Planning
- The Town Council recorded that they object to this application. Previously the Town Council objected to the proximity of the second bungalow to the road, as it obscured the road. Although the wall has been removed, the second bungalow still obscures the view, affecting the visual splay. It is also noted that the bungalows are significantly taller than the ones they replace and are not in keeping with the area. The Town Council would wish replacement dwellings to match the architecture of surrounding buildings. They wish to record their disappointment that plans submitted do not have much detail.

Reepham Town Council submitted the following response to Broadland District Council
- Planning application 20204069 response
- Please refer to the Town Council’s earlier submission. Reepham Town Council acknowledge the amended plans and note that the revision by Highways to the proposal regarding the unmade road between Park Lane and Broomhill Lane seems to address the Town Council’s concerns regarding access to the proposed cemetery by the provision of a removable bollard at Park Lane and the surfacing of the unmade road to a standard suitable for vehicular traffic. It is however noted that there has still been no provision for barriers preventing cyclist, and others, from exiting the unmade road onto Broomhill Lane at no more than walking pace, as per the Council’s original objection. Other concerns raised by the Town Council in their initial submission remain unaddressed and therefore the objections remain.
